How to define inter server communication keys

Under some circumtances DAF Engines located on different servers may need to communicate with each others.  Data transfered between servers are encrypted with a symmetric algorithm. It is necessary to define matching encryption keys for each server on each server member of the pool.

Each server has a local encryption key used to decrypt all incoming data. This same key must be used by other servers to encrypt data intended for this first server.

To define a server local key:

  • Launch the DAF Configuration Tool
  • Right click on [Server Pool Communication Keys]

             Server P3BI5501 Local key

  • Right click on [LocalHost (All Local IPs)]
  • Choose [Set Password]
  • Enter a password, confirm and press [OK]

To define a destination key on a server:

  • Launch the DAF Configuration Tool
  • Right click on [Server Pool Communication Keys]
  • Choose [Add Server...]
  • Type in the destination Server Name and its IP Address
  • Type in local key defined on the destination server
